Free bicycles are proving to be a huge success at COP15 Copenhagen as delegates choose a CO-neutral method of transportation to get around the city. Baisikeli, an initiative to lower CO2 emissions in Denmark, has provided 200 bikes for COP15. There are plans to use the bikes as a means of easy access to healthcare in Africa at a later date.

“40% of all Copenhageners ride a bike every day” says Henrik Smedegaard Mortensen from Baisikeli, and with the Danish capital covered by a network of cycle lanes getting around is easy and safe.

Some of the FFI team here at COP15 hope to get behind the handlebars at some point, so watch this space!
